The use of chemical lights in fishing improves catch rates from 4-156x and have been shown to attract larger fish than LEDs but they contain extremely carcinogenic chemicals and are single-use plastics that are routinely lost at sea.

Other issues include: exploding at depths beyond 100 metres, dimming significantly after activation, or simply not working because of low quality.

SINGLE-USE PLASTICS & CARCINOGENIC CHEMICALS

Chemical light sticks are widely recognized as a significant contributor to ghost gear and marine debris worldwide

"Litter from chemical light sticks is considered the largest source of plastic waste from underwater fishing lights that could affect the environment and human health."

We are developing the BioLure with input from fishermen

to solve both the performance issues and environmental impact of chemical light sticks

How the BioLure Works

Biodegradable Casing +
Bioluminescent Powder

The Biolure capitalizes on our breakthrough bioluminescent technology, which activates when mixed in water.

Our advanced casing design is certified marine biodegradable and flexible.

As a result, the BioLure can equalize to match the oceans pressure, providing an unparalleled depth rating.

LARGE-SCALE FUNDED TRIALS

We're seeking partners to conduct larger trials in the near future to ensure we're making the best product for fishermen!

Light from Bioluminescence

Nyoka has developed a bioluminescent powder that lights up when mixed with water. The powder is composed of purified bioluminescent proteins, which are non-toxic and themselves biodegradable.

The powder is developed to meet & exceed the performance specs of chemiluminescence (chemical light) and it works better than any chem light in the market.

Try them for yourself

We're sending BioLure sample packs to the first 10 sign ups!

Thanks for signing up! If you are within the first ten we will get in touch with you soon.
